SMS Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the appointment confirmation and reminder text-messaging program operated by Cowan Services, LLC, which does business as Professional Assessor (professionalassessor.com) (“Cowan Services,” “Professional Assessor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), for property owners who have filed a property-tax appeal with our office.

Program description

When you provide your mobile number while scheduling an appeal appointment — through our online appeal form, by phone with our staff or automated phone assistant, or in person — you agree to receive text messages related to your appointment, such as confirmations and reminders. These are transactional messages; we do not send marketing texts.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your appointment activity (for example, a confirmation when you book and a reminder before your appointment).

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard rates may apply.

Opt out and help

You can cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP. After you reply STOP, we will send one confirmation message and then stop. To resume, reply START. For help, reply HELP or contact jason@professionalassessor.com.

Consent

Providing your mobile number and consent to receive texts is optional and is not a condition of filing an appeal or scheduling an appointment. If you prefer not to receive texts, we will still contact you by phone or email.

Carriers

Supported carriers include major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your mobile number and SMS opt-in information are handled as described in our Privacy Policy and are never shared with third parties for marketing.
